I guess this spring cleaning/curing business has gotten to me, because I have a massive urge t o purge my closet - and my whole apartment, actually - of excess stuff.
First up: blazers!
Top row, L to R: Bebe (goner), Soundgirl (keep), Zinc (goner).
Bottom row: Forever 21 (keep), Forever 21 (keep), something-or-other from Nordstrom Rack (keep), American Eagle (goner).
Revisiting all these blazers was interesting because I hadn't worn most of them in ages. Some, like the pale pink Zinc one, I'd grown to irrationally hate. Others, like the yellow Bebe number, I love despite myself. Its color is all wrong, but it's a beautiful brushed cotton and fits great. But - and this is a big but - I never wore it and honestly, it didn't suit me.
Also, I think it's finally time for me to admit that blazers aren't really my bag. As a devotee of What Not to Wear, I somehow got the idea that blazers are the savior of every lady's wardrobe, but seriously? Hand me a cardigan.
Fashion tape: truly a girl's best friend. It's saved me from many a nip slip, I daresay. In this case, I used it to secure bits of jackets that weren't lying flat. Cheap, unlined jackets are terrible in this respect.
I also consolidated my skirts onto two of those massive hangers that hold four skirts each. Those hangers are slightly annoying, but ultimately save lots of space in my tiny, badly designed closet. Also, can I just say that I adore that pencil skirt on top of the pile? It's one of my few good Forever 21 purchases.
Next up: Jewelry and tops!

I have never understood the whole "blazer as wardrobe necessity" school of thought. I am just a casual person, I guess, but I don't know why they have gotten so much play and the cardigan has not. Although a good one can be very flattering, they're just too formal for daily life, in my world.
